At Meester Smeets Tegelhandel B.V., we are dedicated to providing complete financial transparency and a reliable reimbursement process. This standalone Refund Policy explains our criteria for refund approval, timelines, processing methods, and terms in strict alignment with Google Merchant Center (GMC) policies and Dutch e-commerce regulations.

1. Refund Eligibility Criteria

Refunds are issued under the following verified circumstances:

Approved Returns: When an authorized return of an unused, uninstalled bathroom accessory in its original packaging is received and passes inspection at our Amsterdam facility within our 30-day window.
Damaged or Defective Items: When an item arrives broken, damaged in transit, or defective, and you elect a monetary refund rather than a free product replacement.
Pre-Fulfillment Order Cancellation: When an order is successfully canceled before it has been processed and handed over to the courier.
Out-of-Stock Products: In the rare event that an ordered item becomes unavailable prior to dispatch, an immediate full refund is issued.

2. Zero Deductions & Fees

Restocking Fees: €0.00 (We never deduct restocking fees from your refund amount).
Return Shipping Fees: €0.00 (Return shipping is free for both defective items and remorse returns; no return shipping fees are deducted from your refund).
Transaction Surcharges: We do not retain payment gateway or processing charges. You receive a full reimbursement for the purchase price paid.

3. Inspection & Refund Approval Timeline

Once your return package arrives at our warehouse (Vredenhofweg 5A, 1051 LM Amsterdam), our team conducts a physical inspection within 2 business days.
As soon as the condition verification is complete, an automated email notification will be dispatched confirming whether your refund has been officially approved.

4. Refund Issuance & Processing Window (10 Calendar Days)

Upon approval of your return, our accounting team releases the refund immediately.
The funds will be credited back to your account within a maximum window of 10 calendar days following inspection approval.
Processing intervals depend on your financial provider:
- PayPal: Typically appears in your PayPal balance or linked card within 2 to 5 business days from authorization.
- Afterpay: Installment schedules are canceled automatically, and any payments already debited are credited back to your associated card within 3 to 7 business days.

5. Original Payment Method Requirement

In accordance with anti-money laundering (AML) legislation, banking security standards, and GMC rules, all refunds are strictly executed back to the original payment method used at checkout.
We cannot issue cash reimbursements, physical cheques, or route refunds to third-party bank accounts or alternative cards.

6. Partial Refunds & Ineligible Circumstances

A full refund may be refused or reduced only under the following conditions:

The accessory shows obvious signs of installation, plumbing connection, water exposure, or tool damage.
The product is missing essential mounting components, screws, brackets, or original retail packaging.
The return was dispatched outside our authorized 30-day return window.

7. Late or Missing Refunds

If 10 calendar days have elapsed since you received our refund confirmation email and you have not observed the credit in your account:

Check your PayPal account activity or review your Afterpay statement.
Contact your bank or card issuer, as standard posting times can vary between financial institutions.
If you have completed these steps and still have not received your funds, please contact our support desk immediately at info@meestersmeets.shop with your order number.

8. Order Cancellation Refunds

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact our team immediately at +31 20 684 1111 or via 24/7 live chat before 5:00 PM CET.
If the order has not yet entered our fulfillment queue, your order will be voided and your full refund will be triggered immediately to your original payment method.
